Dr. Allen Leko obtained an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences at the University of Toronto in 2003, double minoring in biology and chemistry. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2007, also from the University of Toronto. He graduated top ten in his class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Society. He also received the William R. Jackson Aware for Excellence in Clinical Prosthodontics (implants, bridges, and dentures).
Dr. Leko believes dentistry should have a patient-centered approach, meaning treating the whole patient and not just the mouth. A visit to the dentist can evoke fear and anxiety among many patients. He feels a compassionate, empathetic, and calming approach to dentistry can make the experience more pleasant and rewarding. It also helps to have a light and gentle hand when performing dental procedures.
Dr. Leko continues to take various continuing education courses to remain current and up-to-date with changes in the dental profession, as well as infection control guidelines. He believes learning is a life-long process and is always willing to go the extra mile to provide his patients with the dental service they deserve. He is currently a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association, and the Canadian Dental Association.
In his spare time, Dr. Leko loves to spend time with his family. They particularly enjoy biking, nature walks, and playing card games. He also enjoys playing soccer, basketball, and reading. His next challenge will be to improve his cooking skills!
